Maintaining Your Credential

To maintain the Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credential, you must pay the annual certification renewal fee as well as earn and report a minimum of 45 hours of eligible continuing education (CE) every three years, including nine CE hours in Sanitation and Safety and one CE hour pertaining to Professional Ethics. Effective June 1, 2019, to submit a CE activity, all required documentation must be uploaded when submitting a CE activity.

CE Self-Reporting

CDM, CFPPs must meet recertification requirements every three years. CE must be self-reported. Failure to meet all recertification requirements for your three-year recertification period may result in your certification being terminated. To become certified again, you will be required to meet a current pathway of eligibility, submit a new exam application with fees for CBDM review and approval, receive a passing score on the CDM, CFPP Credentialing Exam, and activate your certification within one year of passing the exam.
